Day 01
AIRPORT – DAMBULLA - POLONNARUWA
On arrival the client will be met by the Glorious Travels representatives and will be decorated with garlands of “Temple tree flowers”. Thereafter they will be introduced to the local tour guide who will be accompanying them around the Island. Afterwards transfer to Polonnaruwa via Dambulla. .
Dambulla
Dambulla is famous for the five cave Temples on a rock. The first 03 caves are better, older and larger than the other two. Some caves dates to 1st C.B.C. All the 5 cave walls and ceilings are covered with Buddhist murals and there are more than 130 Buddha statues, statues of Gods and Kings are also found here.
Afterwards proceed to Kandy. (Approx. 1 ½ hrs visit) Leave for Polonnaruwa
Polonnaruwa
Is another “World Heritage Site” was the Capital of Sri Lanka from 11th - 13th Centuries, contains some splendid and spectacular statues.Lankatilake, Tivanka and Thuparama are the most beautiful and largest Image Houses and Tivanka has the best examples of frescoes of the Polonnaruwa period. RankothVehera and Kirivehera are well preserved large stupas, and Gal Vihare - a rock shrine, has four Buddha statues, two seated, one standing and one reclining and ParakramaBahu statue are examples of Sinhalese stone carver. The Vata-da-ge is a unique creation of the Sri Lankan artists.The medieval capital, Polonnaruwa was fortified with inner & outer moats and inner & outer walls. The Parakrama Samudra is on the western side of the city. The Royal Palace, Audience Hall and other buildings in the inner city were enclosed by another tall wall.(Approx. 2 hrs visit)

Day 02
HABARANA – ANURADHAPURA - SIGIRIYA
After breakfast leave for Anuradhapura Site Seeing Tour
Anuradhapura
Anuradhapura is a “World Heritage Site”. The capital of Sri Lanka from the 05th Century B.C. to the end of the 10th Century A.D. was the most celebrated of Sri Lanka’s ancient ruined cities. The city’s greatest teasures are its dagobas constructed of bricks and are hemispherical in shape. The most notable of these dagobas are the Ruvanveliseya dating back to the 2nd Century B.C. and is 300 feet in diameter,the Jetawanarama is 370 feet and the ThuparamaDagoba is enshrined with the collarbone of the Buddha. The city’s most renowned relic is the sacred Bo Tree, which is said to have grown from a branch of the tree under which the Buddha gained Enlightenment. It was planted 2250 years ago and is the oldest historically authenticated tree in the world.( .(Approx. 3- 4 hrs visit)

Day 03 HABARANA - SIGIRIYA – MATALE - KANDY
After breakfast proceed to sigiriya to climb Sigiriya Rock.
Sigiriya
Is home to the 5th Century “Fortress in the Sky” which is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the fortress. Within its triple-moated defence the huge rock rises almost to a sheer height of500ft. On its summit are the foundations of what was once a great and sumptuous palace and gardens complete with swimming pool.On one of the stairways the only known ancient work of Sinhala secular paintingsurvived in the form of Frescoes of life sized damsels in all the freshness and delicacy of their original color. Proceed to Kandy en route Matale - (Approx. 2 hrs drive)
Spice Garden at Matale
You will see many spice gardens at Matale where Cinnamon, Cardamom, Pepper Creepers and all other spice trees, plants and creepers are planted for visitors to see them. Spice products are also available for those who would like to buy them. At all Spice Gardens visitors are taken round explaining each tree and plant and at the end explaining the use of them in food preparations.
Batik Factory where you can see the manufacture of beautiful Batik prints. These shops contain a wide variety of Batik items.

Day 04
KANDY – PERADENIYA - KANDY
After breakfast visit Peradeniya botanical gardens - Approx. 15 mints. drive.
Royal Botanical Gardens
147 acres in extent: started in 1374 as a pleasure garden of the Kings of Kandy. There are more than 5000 species of tree and plants. Some and endemic as well as flora from the tropical world. Spice garden and Orchid House are popular with Tourists. Afternoon, city tour of Kandy, including Upper Lake Drive, Market Square, Arts & Crafts Centre, Gem Museum.
Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic
Ever since 4th Century A.D, when the Buddha's Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess' hair, the Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka's most prized possession. Evening witness a cultural show featuring various dance types of Sri Lanka

KANDY – TRAINE RIDE – NUWARA ELIYA
Afterwards leave for Train ride up to Nanu Oya
Nuwara Eliya
The ‘Little England’ of Sri Lanka, is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations. It is supposed to be one of the coldest places on the island, but is really just like an England spring day although the temperature does drop at night. All around NuwaraEliya you will see evidence of the British influence. Houses are like country cottages or Queen Ann style mansions. Evening commence city tour in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 06
NUWARA ELIYA– HORTON PLAINS– NUWARA ELIYA
After breakfast proceed to Horton Plains.
Horton Plains National Park
Is a protected area in the central highlands of Sri Lanka and is covered by montane grassland and cloud forest. This plateau at an altitude of 2,100–2,300 metres (6,900–7,500 ft) is rich in biodiversity and many species found here are endemic to the region. This region was designated a national park in 1988. It is also a popular tourist destination and is situated 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) from Ohiya, 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) from the world famous Ohiya Gap/Dondra Watch and 32 kilometres (20 mi) from NuwaraEliya. “World’s End” and “Little World’s End” falling from the Horton Plains 1000 feet and 3000 feet respectively, to the land below and the Baker’s Falls are places you should visit. This is the only Park where visitors could walk on their own on the designated tracks.

NUWARA ELIYA - UDAWALAWE – TISSA

Udawalawe National Park lies on the boundary of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces, in Sri Lanka. The park is 165 kilometres (103 mi) from Colombo.Udawalawe is an important habitat for water birds and Sri Lankan elephants. It is a popular tourist destination and the third most visited park in the country.(3 – 4 Hrs visit) Proceed to Tissamaharamaya

TISSA – KALAMATIYA – MULKIRIGALA - MIRISSA
After Breakfast leave for Kalamatiya
Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary
Situated between Tangalle and ambantota.Twenty kilometers beyond Tangalla, the little-visited Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary comprises an area of coastal lagoons and mangroves which is rich in marine and other birdlife, similar to that found in Bundala and best seen from November to March. Sanctuary is rich with lagoons and mangrove swamps which attract a number of winter migrant birds.
Mulkrigala Temple Rock temples that date back over 2000 years make up Mulkrigala. These temples are perched on a boulder at a height of approximately 200 m. Climb the stairs leading up to the top and find a series of caves that house reclining Buddha statues along with smaller figures that are either sitting and standing. One cave also has a library where a number of olas (palm-leaf manuscripts), discovered by British administrator George Turnour in 1826, are preserved. The manuscript provided the key to translating the great chronicle of Sri Lanka (Mahawamsa) from Palito English and then to Sinhala. The complex also has ancient murals and devalayas
Rekawa Turtle conservation project
The aim of this conservation project is to protect nesting sites until the hatchlings are able to return to the ocean. Here, you can join in the turtle watch program where you can see five species of marine turtles laying their eggs on the sand at night. These are the leatherback turtle, loggerhead turtles, olive Ridley turtles, green turtles and hawksbill turtles.

Day 09
MIRISSA – WHALE WATCHING
Early morning leave for Whale Watching
Early morning depart to Mirissa Harbour for Whale Watching Tour. Breakfast at boat and tour will be around 3 – 5 hrs. Whale Watching season starts in Sri Lanka during December to April. In warm Indian ocean you can see Blue whales, Bryde´s whales, Sperm whales, Fin whales, sometimes Killer whales, and Common dolphins, Bottlenose dolphins, Spinner dolphins, Risso's dolphins and Striped dolphins. Sometimes you can see turtles and various fish species, for example Bluefin tuna and flying fish.Evening leisurely stay at the hotel in Mirissa.
